Dr. Farquhar treats patients diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea who have been unable to adhere to CPAP therapy and those who would prefer an alternative treatment for their obstructive sleep apnea.
Dr. Farquhar has been a practicing dentist for 40 years and have treated obstructive sleep apnea for 15 years. A member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine since 2005, he became a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine in 2015. His practice is now limited to treatment of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea.
Dr. Farquhar has taught for the AADSM on a number of occasions and have chaired their “Essentials of Dental Sleep Medicine”, “Practical Demonstration” and “Board Review” courses. In October, 2019 he will chair the AADSM’s “Advances in Dental Sleep Medicine”. He has presented at the AADSM annual meeting, The Canadian Sleep Society dental group meeting, and the University of Toronto CE program on dental sleep medicine.
Currently Dr. Farquhar serves on the board of directors of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, which recognizes those dentists duly licensed by law who have successfully completed the certification requirements established by the ABDSM.
